Frequently Asked Questions
At KC Flow Heroes, we replace your supply lines rather than seal them for a permanent solution. When we start a water leak repair in Kansas City, we select the strongest available material for your new pipes. That way, your supply lines stay intact for as long as possible.
While sewer pipes are less likely to leak than supply lines, they can overflow depending on their age and how many people are using your plumbing at once. When this happens, we use cured-in-place pipe lining (CIPP) to strengthen your drainage lines from the inside. This means you don’t have to replace any of your current system. Plus, this method doesn’t require trenches if the pipes are underground.
We start by precisely measuring the amount of pipe lining you need using a video camera. Then, we put this lining through a machine that inverts the tube shape while coating it in an epoxy resin mixture. This material is completely corrosion-resistant and damp-proof, all while using your current sewer pipes as a blueprint.
After we thoroughly clean your pipes out, we hook the CIPP machine up to your pipe’s opening. Then, we feed the lining through your system using powerful air pressure. This device keeps pushing the lining until it uses the whole length.
After the resin hardens, it completely renews the entire sewer pipe. This stops any current leaks while preventing future cracks from forming!
On average, your pipes can last up to 50 years after your water leak repair in Kansas City. Thanks to the PEX materials we use when installing new lines, you can experience uninterrupted flow for years! We often find that our clients with older properties are the most relieved by this news. Their old pipes often use materials that are not up to par with modern plumbing.
If you have a dripping pipe somewhere in your home, the problem may relate to the structural integrity of the pipe itself. Over time, pipes without corrosion-resistant materials rust over on the inside. This can lead to cracks forming along the rustiest parts of your lines.
Leaks can also occur due to incorrect pipe placement and environmental factors like root growth and underground movements. Having your lines in the right spot is crucial for ensuring your water flows properly. Otherwise, clogs and broken seals have an easier time forming, accelerating the degradadation of your pipes.
The first thing you should do is turn off your water supply using your main shutoff valve. If you do not know where your valve is, it is possible to turn off your water at the meter. However, we advise calling the KC Flow Heroes if this is the case. We can more safely address the situation.
